Social Emotional Learning is a skill set that is necessary in the proper upbringing of a holistically healthy individual. For many years these skills have been considered “soft” skills, and preference for instruction and focus was given to “hard” skills with the underlying implication, these skills could be gotten through everyday interaction with others.
As outlined by the Yale Child Study Center, Social Emotional Learning is comprised of 5 keys components:
1.Understand Myself
2. Managing Myself
3. Respecting Others
4. Building Relationships
5. Making Decisions
